Final Cut Pro X – the NAB experience
Here is a 2 part video kindly shared by Emmanuel Pampuri about the Apple presentation of the highly anticipated Final Cut Pro X.
The first part is a bit tedious and is more like an introduction to the presentation itself than anything else. You could easily skip the first 10 minutes. But if, like me, you get horrified at first sight by the Imovie-nightmarish look, the second part should get you excited enough to forget about IMovie. [for a while]
And just to give you a small idea of how drastic the changes are, here are two freeze frame of the presentation.
The first picture shows a regular project on the Timeline as we know it on the current FCP:
And here is the same project as it can be reduced to on FCP X.
Yes it is the same project 🙂
The video has been circulating for couple of weeks. Everybody was expecting it to be shut down quickly and numerous debates saw light quickly. One of the valid point raised , including by nofilmschool, regards the ‘attractive’ price of $299 for the program but that doesn’t include any of the other programs. Apple hasn’t mentioned anything about it yet. So we wait, and in the meantime, we watch:
