Watch the First Episode of Lisa Kudrow’s New Show: Web Therapy
If you haven’t tried Lisa Kudrow new show, Web Therapy, Showtime graciously posted the first episode on Youtube, for your viewing.
In 2008 Kudrow became the star, co-writer and co-producer of Web Therapy, an improv-based webseries following Fiona Wallice, a “therapist” who has developed a 3 minutes online session concept and tries to look professional when she really is all but capable to helping people.
Web Therapy is a cheap and smart concept that leaves space for visual creativity and explores the different ways the Internet can become a narrative tool. As you can see from the snapshot at the beginning of the article, the show plays with the possibilities that screens and meta-framing offer, making it dynamic and interesting.
You might or might not be sensitive to Kudrow’s impersonation, and you might or might not find a certain resemblance with other characters she has played in the past, keeping a straight face no matter how absurd the situation is or how outrageous what she says is. But no matter your affinity with Kudrow, there is definitely more than her presence to this show. The actress is well surrounded, with Victor Garber playing her husband, and Jane Lynch and Meryl Streep already confirmed for coming appearance, to name a few.
