‘Reinvent Yourself’: a Conversation Between Tim Ferriss and Chase Jarvis
If you’re not yet familiar with NY Times best-seller Tim Ferriss, author of The 4 hour Workweek, or Chase Jarvis, Seattle-based self-taught photographer and co-creator of the free creative education channel Creative Live, the following video is a great introduction to both men, their philosophy and work ethic.
Tim Ferriss turned his life upside down in 2004, coming up with creative solutions and a solid system to spend as less time as possible on his “work” (what pays the bills) and as much time as possible on living fully. He talks here about his personal story and shares tips that can be applied for any creative person dealing with the ups and downs of working freelance.
I read Ferriss book last year, so I was familiar with his concepts, but still got a lot from the video. His unique approach to life is interesting and stimulating but also at times challenging* to apply so I particularly enjoyed Jarvis’ input, with his perspective as a freelance/creative, that made it easier for me to relate to.
What do you think about Ferriss advice? Have you already applied any of his tips in your career/life? Did it make a difference? I’d love to know more about how you juggle with the business and the creative sides of your work.
