Girl With the Dragon Tattoo: ‘We Changed the Ending’ Fincher said.
As we got closer to the release date of Fincher’s version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, new information, official or leaked reach, the Net.
The director mentioned to Sweden news agency TT Spektra that his ending diverged from the book’s one:
“We had an idea that made the ending more easy to understand. We changed the ending, not amazingly much, but it works better from a movie-making viewpoint. Some things work in novels but not in a film. There’s a certain rhythm in a movie and that made us feel a change was in order.”
No specifics yet. We con only assume Fincher went logically for a more-visual approach, but it might as well be a more dramatic hollywoodian ending.
The answer in 3 months.
In the meantime, the tumblr Mouth Taped Shut published an unseen -and probably soon to be shut down- video shot on set.
Whoever filmed it had a privileged position, right next to Fincher and behind the monitors as two cameras shoot a close-up of Daniel Craig looking at the (limited spoiler) famous picture. [Or so we can assume from the left screen, but Fincher mentions a Bible in the video, so…]
Fincher, famously known for having shot the opening scene of Social Network 99 times and for shooting a lot in general, doesn’t seem to have change strategy here:
Nice… Once again!Lift the left side of the Bible a tiny bit.
