Teach Vimeo Staff a Lesson: the Monopod Exemple
Warning: If, like me, you don’t have any great hidden knowledge or a rare talent to create a Steadicam with a left shoe and a chewing-gum; but enjoy discovering what comes out from people’s ingenuity and learn from them, fear no more, there will be something for you to take out from this article!
In the last few months Vimeo, the Youtube counterpart dedicated to original content and created by filmmakers and video creators, has been very active in developing and sharing informative content for image-makers. Their latest section, Vimeo Video School, regroups video tutorials on basics to more detailed topics in an entertaining way.
Until now, only the Vimeo Staff could post tutorials but two days ago they opened a ‘Weekend Project‘ inviting us to
create a video lesson of your own. Share your wisdom with us, and take a crack at teaching something to the Vimeo Community!
Below is an inspiring example of How-to video that will show you the many creative ways you can use a monopod and what type of content they are looking for:[see, I told you everybody would get something interesting out of it]
For those interested in creating content, here are some more information:
– Please remember that only videos made specifically for this project will be considered. All submitted videos must be approved by the Vimeo Staff before appearing in the Group, so don’t worry if your video does not show up at first, we’ll get to it, promise!
– Try to keep your video between 2-4 minutes. While we understand that there are a plethora of softwares out there, we’d like you to try and steer clear of screen casts for this project.
– Make sure to submit your videos to the Weekend Project Group.
– All submissions are due on Wednesday, September 13th at 11:59 PM (EST).
-The winner of this contest will get a free Plus account, or if you’re already a Plus member, we’re going to let you gift the Plus to whomever you choose (along with an extra 2.5 GB of upload space)! Also, if your video strikes the right tone and covers something particularly interesting, we may feature it in its own lesson in the Vimeo Video School! The runner-up will receive an extra 1 GB of upload capacity whether Plus or not.
