Selling Your Film Without Selling Your Soul: FREE Version Out Until October 1st
This is something I’ve been looking forward to sharing for months now:
SYFnotSYS, as it’s commonly referred to on Twitter, is a book that shares Case Studies in Hybrid, DIY and P2p [= Peer to Peer] Independent Distribution.
For once being in Europe played in my favor. I have been reading it for couple of hours now and I can already tell you that you won’t experience the unnerving feeling of frustration that usually grows when you read a book supposed to ‘reveal all the secrets to sell and distribute your movie‘ but that ends up overwhelming you with redundant generalities.
SYFnotSYS is all about specifics, the case studies are recent, detailed and relevant for independent filmmakers and, get ready, it has numbers!
This is a book written by people from the field for real people, and by real people I mean people who wants to make films and a decent living out of it so they won’t die under a bridge before 50, but who are not chasing the ‘Hollywood dream’. If you’re planning to become a millionaire and you’re trying to unlock the formula to do so, this is probably not the right book.
So what now?
Selling Your Film Without Selling Your Soul is available on many formats. You can download it for free as a PDF here until October 1st. The PDF version is 160 pages and is already a great source of information. I’m personally also planning to buy the Paper Book version that will be out soon [no release date yet], is an extended version (279 pages) and will cost the very decent price of $9.95.
