It’s Mouth Taped Shut Christmas Time: Let’s Get Emotional All Together One More Time (Please)
Important Note: in all fairness, if you are not a Mouth Taped Shut veteran, this article might make no sense to you. If you are a Tim Ferris disciple, save some time, learn Salsa (!) If you are curious and want to learn more about this mysterious Mouth-Taped-Shut thingy, click here and enter the void. (and yes, we are truly sorry you missed it.)
End of note.
Beginning of the semi-hysterical post.
It is 3am, Sunday December 23rd in my universe. I shouldn’t be awake (who cares) but one action leading to another I ended up on looking at 42 Entertainment new website (which is schoen by the way).
If you don’t remember (how dare you), 42 Entertainment is the company behind The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo‘s transmedia experience that changed the course of few lives and was -from a more objective point of view- a beautifully crafted marketing campaign that challenged and respected a curious audience eager to play.
The campaign ended a little bit more than a year ago and I’ve paused many times this month thinking that only a year ago, I was virtually chasing dried flowers with folks from everywhere in the whole wide universal world. Damn. Life can change in a 365 days.
Does anyone know how happy it makes me to upload another Mouth Taped Shut related picture? Yes, YOU do now! (congrats)
Ok, getting my emotional crap together.
On their fresh new website 42E shares a little bit more about the projects they have worked on and that includes Mouth Taped Shut (tada! You hadn’t seen that one coming I’m sure.)
My personal average-size heart skipped 7 or 8 beats when I saw a quote coming from my brain through my website on 42E’s website. Did I really manage to write a sentence that makes sense in english and is grammatically correct? Let me tell you one thing: I won’t go back and read all the articles I wrote about MTS to find out if that’s really something I wrote as quoted. Sometimes, it’s all about keeping the dream alive Salandarians!
But more important, there is a video!
No embed (because, let’s face it, I might be the only one who wants to embed it) but whatever, it exists, it is here, and it does feel great to watch a 2 minute recap from the creators of this fracking game. (Although the voice over might not pertain to one of their employe. But if it does, I’m assuming he has been hired to voice over everybody’s actions. That’s what I would do.)
Remember @rocknlor from “Tortillas, Cervezas and Hollywood Twist in Barcelona“?!!
And even more important: MANY OF YOU ARE IN IT!
Ok not enough of you (because apparently this video is not about us) and granted, it’s mostly pictures from Salandarian Padawans, but there are also tweets from helpers like… @jesuiscamille!
Ok, enough with the teasing, go watch it here.
So that’s it. It is nothing but it is something. It made me happy, like seeing one more time my kid stolen in the supermarket in 1976 while I was trying to decide which yoghurt to pick. And I had to share it with you Salandarians. It works remarkably with the spirit of nostalgia that surrounds this odd time of the year when a slice of life ends and a new one starts.
- 42E was also behind the Mark Of the Spider-Man campaign
- One (me) has to wonder: by making it officially official that they were the one behind this campaign, only two conclusions seem plausible: a) TGWPWF and TGWKTHN won’t happened, or, less bleak but still unsatisfying, there won’t be a repeat, viral marketing wise. (or I’m too cynical and I’m killing the spirit ending this article like that) (boo me)
