Paul Thomas Anderson About The Master’s Writing and Directing Process
Paul Thomas Anderson, that I shouldn’t present anymore, sat and talked with the Los Angeles Times’ journalist John Horn about writing The Master, finding the character vs finding the frame first, doing research, directing actors from a script you’ve written etc.
PTA is in this very tiny club of self-taught writer/director club that makes his knowledge even precious -in my opinion. Unfortunately, the Master suffered from a marketing strategy issue and an Oscar race with many crowd-pleasure that took the front stage.
This 28 minute video gives us time to get more acquainted with the movie’s behind-the-scenes and, if you hadn’t read it yet, you can always download and read The Master’s script here.[Via A Bitter Sweet Life]
