Handling Game of Thrones Post-Production
Game of Thrones, one of the few TV Shows that’s got plenty of coverage here, from writing to vfx, get another special treatment today with this 20 minute video with Greg Spence, one of the show’s Producer who oversees Game of Thrones Post-Production.
Games of Thrones is a unique show in that it has a steadily expanding group of characters with equal importance geographically separated. In other words, we are following characters in different locations, each location being part of a fantasy world. During the interview that took place during NAB 2013 and sponsored by Avid, Spence breaks down GoT’s workflow and talks about the creators’ show to shoot as often as possible on location, reducing the use of VFX to what can’t be avoided. (think dragons)
If you are familiar with the show, you can go skip the first five minutes, which are just a visual recap of the first two seasons.

As Brainpicking says so well, donating = loving.
I spend around 30h per week working on mentorless.com to find articles that will interest all of us, write the newsletter and maintain the site (that would need much more of my time to improve, I agree). A lot of us can’t donate, but if you can, and feel this website deserves your help, any amount will make a difference.
