Must-Watch: The Stunning Making-Of of The Eagleman Stag
When I wrote about it about a year ago, I also shared a short timelapse sequence, a behind-the-scenes before the ‘real behind the scenes.’ Usually, when people announce that a bigger making-of is to come in a vague future, it really means that nothing will come, even though making-ofs are a great way to attract a larger audience.
Turns out not only writer-director Mikey Please is a man of word, but Making the Eagleman Stag is one of a kind making-of. Please didn’t just put the footage one behind the other on a TL with hip music, he actually told a story. In 7 minutes, you will get transported in the hard-working world of making a stop-motion animation, from the original idea to its final result. It is enchanting, impressive and I believe a faithful testimony of Please and his team work value.
If you haven’t seen The Eagleman Stag before, I recommend to watch it first, and then watch the making-of.
If you want more, here is the trailer of Please’s coming project, that looks awesome of course:
As Brainpicking says so well, donating = loving.
I spend around 30h per week working on mentorless.com to find articles that will interest all of us, write the newsletter and maintain the site (that would need much more of my time to improve, I agree). A lot of us can’t donate, but if you can, and feel this website deserves your help, any amount will make a difference.
check the archives for a taste of it.
