Are You an Amateur or a Professional? Bob Lefsetz’s List that Clarifies the Distinction
Few days ago, Bob Lefsetz sent an email titled Amateurs/Professionals where he made a simple yet, powerful and crystal clear list of the main distinctions between what makes you either an amateur or a professional. I have been on the Lefsetz Letter‘s list for a few months now, and it is not the first time that I am inspired and/or touched by one of Lefsetz’ emails. I have quoted extract on mentorless facebook page, and on twitter, but this one deserves more than that.
Amateurs/Professionals points out to general behaviors that reveal if you are here for the long run or not. Below is an infographic with a selection from Bob Lefsetz’s original email, that you can read in its entirety here. See what you agree with and if you recognize some patterns (good or bad) you might already be applying, want to suppress or implement in your creative career.
And if you haven’t yet, I strongly recommend to subscribe to the Lefsetz Letter; even though it is originally intended for the music industry audience, many topics are much broader than that.
