written by Elif Shafak
This is the second book I read from Shafak, (the first one was The Forty Rules of Love) and that I like. Shafak’s writing is fluid, she mixes timelines, locations and POV with ease and there is a certain flavor or melancholic poetry in her universe that makes it feel like you’re reading something delicate that deserves your full attention. (I don’t know if any of that makes sense, but I can’t find a better way to say it.) If you miss reading novels, this one might be the gentle friend bringing you back to it.
